Michael L. Rinke, MD, PhD, MBA, is Professor, Pediatrics and Vice President and Chief Quality Officer at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Rinke is a pediatric hospital medicine physician, specializing in caring for children admitted to the hospital.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University in 1999, Dr. Rinke earned his Doctor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University in 2007. He remained at Johns Hopkins to complete his pediatric internship and residency in 2010 and his Doctor of Philosophy in clinical investigation in 2013. Dr. Rinke later went on to complete his Master of Business Administration with a healthcare concentration at Marist College in 2021.

Dr. Rinke’s research focuses on the application of behavior change techniques and implementation science to improve the quality of care delivered to children in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings. He has been principal investigator and co-investigator on numerous funded research projects, and his work has been shared through many peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations. Dr. Rinke is a reviewer for several scientific journals, including Pediatrics, the Health Services Research Journal and Applied Clinical Informatics, among others.

Dr. Rinke is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and is board certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). He is also a member of the Society for Pediatric Research and the Academic Pediatric Association. In 2020, Dr. Rinke won the United Hospital Fund’s Tribute to Excellence in Health Care Award. In 2023, he was named in the Crain's New York Notable Health Care Leaders.
