Charles R. Mackin, MD, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Mackin’s clinical focus centers on the diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill and injured children.
In 2011, Dr. Mackin earned his Bachelor of Science in molecular and cell biology and his Master of Science in genetics and genomics at the University of Connecticut. Following this, he earned his Doctor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine in 2016. He continued his medical training at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completing his pediatrics residency and internship in 2019, followed by a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine in 2024.
Dr. Mackin’s research focuses on procedural and simulation-based education. He has shared his work through several peer-reviewed publications and national and international presentations.
Dr. Mackin is board certified in General Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2024, he received the Montefiore Housestaff Award from Montefiore Einstein.
