Carolina Bernabe, MD, is a Medical Gastrointestinal Oncologist and Assistant Professor at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is in the treatment of colorectal cancer and gastrointestinal malignancies.

After earning her Doctor of Medicine at Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 2010, Dr. Bernabe completed her internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in 2016. She then completed a hematology/medical oncology fellowship at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in 2019.

Dr. Bernabe’s research focuses on contributing and improving cancer care for minority patients in the U.S. and Latin America, including increasing clinical trial recruitments for patients with different ethnic backgrounds. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed original research publications, invited editorials, articles, abstracts and poster presentations. She is also a reviewer for Supportive Care in Cancer and has given multiple oral presentations.

Dr. Bernabe is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the ASCO Health Equity & Outcomes Committee. Dr. Bernabe is fluent in Spanish and English.
