Kelly A. Harkins-Squitieri, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Radiology at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus includes all breast image-guided procedures, breast MRI and high-risk screening.

After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology in 1988 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Harkins-Squitieri earned her Doctor of Medicine at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1993. She completed an internship as a transitional resident at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1994 and then went on to complete her residency in diagnostic radiology at Morristown Memorial Hospital in 1998, where she became Chief Resident. Following this, Dr. Harkins-Squitieri completed a women’s imaging fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital in 2000.

Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Harkins-Squitieri’s research focus includes screening high-risk patients, tomosynthesis and breast MRI. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, presentations and abstracts. One such publication is titled “Multivariate analysis of roentgenologic characteristics and risk factors for nonpalpable carcinoma of the breast”, which is published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Harkins-Squitieri is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners Diplomate and the American Board of Radiology. She is a member of many professional societies and organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the Society for Breast Imaging and the Radiological Society of North America. Dr. Harkins-Squitieri was named in the Top Doctors of Connecticut and earned a Doctors of Distinction Award in 2020. She also received the Dr. Papatestas Award for Breast Cancer Research.
