Mandy A. O’Hara, MD, MPH, is a Child Abuse Pediatrician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Associate Professor at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. O’Hara’s clinical focus is on the prevention and evaluation of child maltreatment.

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Rice University, Dr. O’Hara attended Medical College of Pennsylvania, Drexel College of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 1996. Her postgraduate training began with her pediatrics internship and residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children from 1996 through 1999. She later pursued her Masters in Public Health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and her child abuse pediatrics fellowship at Maimonides and Bellevue Hospitals, completing both in 2014. In 2022, she began her integrative medicine fellowship at Andrew Weill Center for Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona. She has additional training and expertise in complementary and alternative medicine including mind-body medicine, Reiki and applied yoga.

Dr. O’Hara has published original research in child physical abuse and neglect. In addition, her research and educational interests include medical provider wellbeing, especially in the face of challenging cases, for which she has published online coursework and literary works.

Dr. O’Hara is board certified in general pediatrics and child abuse pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a Board Director for the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children-New York, a Mentor for the Child Abuse Medical Provider Program and Co-Chair of the Wellness Committee for the Ray E. Helfer Society, the primary national medical society for physicians devoted to the care of maltreated children.
