Carol B. Kelly, MD, is an attending internal medicine physician and Assistant Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus centers on teaching the next generation of internal medicine residents how to be skilled and compassionate primary care physicians.

After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in biology from Brown University in 1976, Dr. Kelly completed her Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 1979. She then completed an internship at Duke University in 1980, followed by her internal medicine residency in 1982.

Dr. Kelly’s research aligns with her clinical interests and focuses on teaching about advance directives and discussing goals of care with patients.

Dr. Kelly is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, and she is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In 2019, she won the Leo M. Davidoff Education Award for Outstanding Teaching for Medical Students. In 2021, Dr. Kelly won the Montefiore Einstein Department of Medicine Award for selfless, courageous, and exemplary contributions to patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2022 she won the Sharon Silbiger Faculty Teaching Award for Outstanding General Internist/Primary Care Physician chosen by Montefiore internal medicine residents.
