About

Abir Naguib, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein, Program Director, Sports Medicine Fellowship at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and Assistant Professor, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Naguib treats musculoskeletal problems in patients of different activity levels, ranging from inactive individuals and “weekend warriors” to athletes, helping patients get back to their activities and sports. She takes a holistic approach to care, treating the body as a whole and developing an individualized treatment plan for each patient that addresses their personal goals.

After earning her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alexandria, Egypt, Dr. Naguib continued at the institution to complete her physician medicine and rehabilitation residency, as well as her Master and Doctorate degrees in physical medicine and rehabilitation. In 2012, she came to the United States and continued her medical training, completing a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Montefiore Einstein in 2016. In 2017, she completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Naguib’s research interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures for musculoskeletal conditions. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, podium presentations and poster presentations.

Dr. Naguib is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Academic Association of Physiatry and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, among others. In 2016, she received the Elkins Award for achieving the highest score nationwide on the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation board exam. In 2019, she ranked in the top 10 percent of those completing the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine exam.
