Caroline Halverstam, MD, FAAD, is an attending dermatologist and Associate Professor at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Halverstam’s clinical focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of general and complex medical dermatology including acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, hair loss, vitiligo, skin cancer and autoimmune conditions.
In 2022, Dr. Halverstam received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. She then pursued her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2007. She began her postgraduate training with an internship in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center, followed by a dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, which she completed in 2011, taking on the role of Chief Resident in her final year.
Dr. Halverstam has contributed to prominent dermatologic journals on the subjects of dermatologic education, complex medical dermatology and cutaneous manifestations of COVID-19. She has shared her work through book chapters and numerous invited presentations, and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology: Case Reports.
Dr. Halverstam is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York and the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
