Kahlil C. DuPerry, PhD, is an attending psychologist at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. DuPerry's clinical work is person-centered, relational and culturally adaptive. He primarily works with patients in a time-limited fashion to increase the use of adaptive coping strategies, help activate support networks and decrease stigma related to seeking mental health care.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Michigan in 2015, Dr. DuPerry earned his Doctor of Philosophy in counseling psychology in 2022 from Boston College. The same year, Dr. DuPerry completed a psychology internship at Montefiore Einstein and remained here to complete a psychology fellowship in 2023.
Dr. DuPerry's research primarily focuses on race and culture, as well as masculinity, with a particular interest in identity development and increasing access to care for people from marginalized backgrounds.
Dr. DuPerry is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) Society of Counseling Psychology, the APA Society for the Psychology of Women, the APA Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity and Race and the APA Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity. He is also a member of the Association of Black Psychologists.
