About

Ms. Quintal works in an oncology clinic providing care to patients with colorectal and anal cancer. She is responsible for coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team, coordinating and helping manage patients on clinical trials, coordinating weekly multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and providing education on cancer treatment and pre- and post-op teaching for surgery. She also runs a Lower GI Cancer Survivorship clinic to help support patients’ transition to life after treatment. Additionally, Ms. Quintal is an adjunct professor at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, teaching nursing skills such as chest tube management, foley care and insertion and IV therapy and blood administration to nursing students. She is passionate about educating patients on managing their health and sharing her knowledge with future nurses.

Ms. Quintal is a member of the Oncology Nurse Society and regularly attends their meetings. She has conducted an Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved, qualitative study that explored the lived experience of male and female nurses in the acute care setting, focusing on their gender differences, titled The Lived Experience of Male and Female Nurses.

Ms. Quintal has worked at Montefiore since 2012 in various positions, including as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Telemetry/ Medical Surgical Unit, floating to Cardiac and Medical ICU, and was a Nurse Practitioner at NYU Winthrop on the ER and Medicine service. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in 2012 and her Master of Science in nursing at the same institution in 2017. She holds certification as family nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
