For Visitors
When you’re visiting a loved one or family member receiving care with us, we aim to make your experience as pleasant and stress-free as possible. See below for visitor information for our Moses, Einstein, Wakefield, Hutchinson and Westchester Square Campuses and Montefiore Medical Group locations.
Visit Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, Montefiore Mount Vernon, Montefiore New Rochelle, Montefiore Nyack Hospital, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital or White Plains Hospital for visitor information at any of these locations.
Plan Your Visit
All patients, adult and pediatric, may have visitors 24 hours per day, seven days per week according to the following guidelines: Two visitors during the hours 9:00 am – 9:00 pm and one visitor during the hours 9:00 pm – 9:00 am.
Patients in the emergency department may have one visitor.
Patients who are scheduled for ambulatory procedures may each have two support people to assist them.
All visitors must be over 12 years of age.
To protect visitors, staff, and patients during this season of heightened viral illnesses, all visitors to the hospital are required to wear masks at all times in public areas and patients’ rooms and practice rigorous hand hygiene.

We kindly request our Montefiore Einstein patients to bring the following essential information to your visit:
- Government-issued photo ID
- Insurance card
- Method of payment for any applicable deductible, co-payment or fees incurred
- Prescription plan benefit card, if you have one
- List of current medications and dosages
- Copy of your advance directive, if you have one
There are several hotels located nearby in Westchester County and the Bronx. All are approximately 15 to 20 minutes by car in normal traffic conditions. To view a listing of local hotels and make a reservation, please visit our hotel booking page.
We also have a limited number of fully furnished studio apartments located one block from Montefiore Hospital on our Moses Campus, which can be rented nightly or weekly. Reservations must be made at least three days in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. During Your Visit
There are gift shops at each of our hospitals where you can buy gifts, snacks, and other essentials. Please note that the hours of operation vary by location.
Moses Campus

We know it can be hard to meet your own nutritional needs while visiting a patient who is receiving care. For quick and easy access to food, guests can visit our hospital cafeterias and coffee shops, as well as vending machines for a quick snack.
Free high-speed wireless internet is available inside patient rooms, waiting areas and outdoor courtyards. No password is required.
Visitor Guidelines & Policies
We ask that you help us maintain a calm and supportive environment for all our patients and visitors.
- Visit only during designated hours.
- Cooperate with all staff requests. There may be times when you are asked to temporarily leave a room or change locations while a patient is being attended to. Visitation will never be denied on the basis of race, religion, color, nationality, age, sex or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, physical appearance, or disability.
- Follow staff instructions in times of emergency or special alert.
- Respect the privacy of other patients.
- Speak quietly and limit noise.
- Be sensitive to your loved one’s condition and that of their roommate, if they have one, and limit visits accordingly.
During your visit, we ask that you:
- Be aware that Montefiore Einstein reserves the right to inspect bags or packages brought in or removed from the hospital.
- Safeguard valuables.
Cell phone use is permitted, unless otherwise noted by hospital personnel or posted signs. Certain areas are off-limits, such as where cell phones could potentially interfere with medical equipment or disrupt patients.
All Montefiore Einstein campuses are tobacco-free. Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited in, on and around our hospitals, residential public areas, clinics, buildings, offices, entrance ramps, loading docks, parking lots, garages, outdoor gardens and courtyards.
Resources for Caregivers
The award-winning Arthur D. Emil Caregiver Support Center has served the needs of families, friends and associates of Montefiore Einstein since 2010. As the first of its kind in NYC and at a premier academic medical center, the center has provided support to 40,000 caregivers, offering a safe refuge where they can recharge, receive emotional support and a quiet respite from their loved one’s room. The center can also assist in navigating services and provide access to needed resources.
Support is free, confidential and welcoming at the Caregiver Support Centers at Montefiore Hospital/Moses Campus, Weiler Hospital/Einstein Campus, Montefiore Hospital/Wakefield Campus, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and White Plains Hospital.
