Forensic Elective
Along with a clinical team that makes these assessments at the Bronx Psychiatric Center and the Bronx TASC Mental Health Court, fourth year residents in our Forensic Psychiatry elective can observe and participate in risk assessments, court proceedings, court-based alternatives to incarceration evaluations and forensic report writing.
In addition, our fourth-years can attend a Law and Psychiatry seminar with the Forensic fellows. Residents will have direct supervision during which case evaluations and write-ups are discussed and read appropriate legal cases and psychiatric literature. Research opportunities are also available as either a part-time or full-time endeavor.
