Surgical Patients
For those patients undergoing surgery to treat ear, nose and throat (ENT)-related conditions, it is our priority that you feel confident and supported before, during and after your procedure. Our surgical team is available for questions via phone or MyChart. We have also listed information below about what to expect in preparation.
Preparing for Your Visit
You will receive a phone call between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm EST from one of our nursing staff on the day prior to surgery to inform you of your procedure time and give you instructions on how to prepare for your procedure.

Preoperative Evaluation
You may require preoperative testing before surgery, which includes blood work and other tests such as chest x-ray or electrocardiogram (ECG). When we call you with your date of surgery, we will offer you a pretesting appointment if needed. You may also opt to have this testing conducted at an external healthcare facility.
Your surgeon may also request medical clearance from your primary care physician or specialist, meaning that they need to examine you and notify us in writing that you are in optimal medical condition to undergo the surgery. If this is required, one of our surgical schedulers will inform you when they call with your appointment details.
