Colon Cancer Screening, Prevention and World-Renowned Care
At Montefiore Einstein, colorectal cancer awareness, prevention, and screening are a year-round priority. During Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March, we intensify our efforts to educate our community about risk factors, early detection, and the importance of starting screening at age 45.
Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death among U.S. adults under 50, with rates rising in younger adults even as overall cancer deaths decline. The good news is that colorectal cancer is often preventable and highly treatable when found early. Screening can detect and remove precancerous polyps before they turn into cancer, often before symptoms appear, helping save lives.
As a leading referral center for colorectal cancer, we provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for complex and advanced cancers as well as newly diagnosed and earlier-stage disease.
