It’s easier than ever to prevent and treat colorectal cancer

It’s important to remember that colorectal cancer is preventable when you take the proper precautions, and curable when found and treated early. At Montefiore Einstein, we are committed to detecting cancer as early as possible, even before symptoms appear, so you can take steps to protect your health. That’s why we offer a robust, patient-focused colorectal cancer screening program, which includes access to screening at our locations throughout the year, special screening events and workshops during Colon Cancer Awareness Month in March, and a partnership with the Colon Cancer Foundation.
Know your risk factors.
If you have a family history of the disease—parent, child, brother, sister—who has had colon cancer or adenomatous polyps, your risk is greater. Age is also a factor that increases risk. That’s why if you’re 45 years or older, your doctor will recommend a screening test. At the Montefiore Einstein Colorectal Cancer Screening Program, you can expect personalized screening in a caring and supportive setting—and will have access to the most advanced screening technology available anywhere.
