Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director's Message

Dear Prospective Candidate:

Welcome to the website for the Montefiore Medical Center Wakefield Campus Gastroenterology Fellowship. I hope you will find these pages informative.

Montefiore Medical Center Wakefield Campus is a university hospital, a major teaching affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. We have three Gastroenterology Fellows, one for each year of training. We have a highly skilled group Gastroenterologists who are dedicated physicians who provide fellows with close supervision.

Teaching, research, clinical and procedural skills are important goals as well as producing compassionate, ethical physicians.  Our 100% Gastroenterology Board Pass rate attests to our high academic standard.  Many of our graduates have become attending gastroenterologists at the Montefiore Medical Center Wakefield Campus and a good percentage of our graduates have become board certified in Clinical Nutrition.  Some of our graduates have gone into academic gastroenterology after further training in hepatology and pancreatology in major medical centers.  We receive more than 300 applications each year for one fellowship position.  We are interested in applicants who will maintain our clinical, academic and ethical standards.
