Where Exploration Fuels Growth
Our annual Nursing Research Symposium creates a dynamic and collaborative environment where ideas and diverse insights flow freely. This day of discovery, inspiration and shared new knowledge highlights innovation in patient- and family-centered nursing care.
Each year, nurses and other healthcare professionals from around the New York Metropolitan Area join the Montefiore Einstein Nursing Department for a day of podium and poster presentations on evidence-based nursing and quality improvement findings. Our annual event serves to remind every nurse, scholar and leader why Montefiore Einstein continues to set the standard for nursing excellence. Each project is a testament to what happens when nurses are empowered to lead with science, collaborate across disciplines and translate evidence into excellent patient care.
The symposium fosters discussion in large and small groups, supports spontaneous conversations and inspires future scholarly inquiries and engagement opportunities.

Montefiore Einstein 14th Annual Nursing Research Symposium
The Montefiore Einstein Department of Nursing held its 14th Annual Nursing Research Symposium in October, 2025. The theme for the 2025 symposium—Discover, Develop, Deliver—was evident throughout the day. The Symposium was successful beyond expectations, setting new records for attendance and the number of abstracts submitted for podium and poster presentations. The day provided nurses and other healthcare professionals a forum for sharing research, evidence-based practice and quality improvement findings and experiences.
Our keynote speaker, Kevin P. Browne, DNP, RN, CNS, FNAP, CCRN, Vice President and Chief Nurse, Northwell Health’s Manhattan Campuses, and Clinical Associate Professor, State University of New York, delivered an address that captured the hearts and minds of those in attendance.
His remarks drew on his personal story shaped by 38 years of experience, woven with humility, humor and hard-earned wisdom, and they resonated deeply with attendees. His key message was “Practice grounded in inquiry is the foundation of the nursing profession’s future.” Dr. Browne challenged nurses to reclaim their roles as evidence-based practitioners and to make research the compass for every clinical, policy and care decision. “The answers are in the evidence,” he said. “Our job is to seek them, apply them and share them.”
