Residents receive extensive training through didactic lectures, daily case conferences, and blended-learning conferences. Conferences are given by attending physicians from all divisions and are presented live with online streaming access for all residents. We provide our residents transparent, online access to our comprehensive curriculum, providing a rich learning environment for all.

Teaching Curriculum
  • Three daily teaching conferences, including daily case conferences
  • Weekly, didactic physics lecture series
  • A week-long magnetic resonance imaging physics course (R2 and R3 residents)
  • Radiology, business, and economics annual educational series
  • “Works-in-Progress,” resident-focused presentations with integrated discussions of research design and clinical research methodology
  • Monthly quality improvement and quarterly difficult-case conferences
  • Radiology-pathology correlation series, in conjunction with the Department of Pathology
  • Monthly Grand Rounds lecture series.

  • Pediatrics: Weekly pediatric surgery and tumor board conference; monthly joint pediatrics genitourinary (GU) conference
  • MSK: Weekly sarcoma conference

  • Neuro: Daily Neurology rounds; weekly ENT and Neurosurgery tumor boards; monthly neuroendocrine and Ophthalmology conferences; monthly ENT/Neurology Grand Rounds
  • VIR: Weekly liver, transplant and oncology tumor boards
  • Mammography: Weekly tumor board
External Meetings
  • New York State Radiological Society - Monthly meetings and resident quiz during the winter and spring months
  • Advanced Interventional Management Symposium (AIMsymposium) - Annual symposium on vascular and endovascular issues (PGY-4 residents) held in New York City each fall
  • We sponsor R2 residents for the annual “Introduction to Academic Radiology" program (RSNA, AUR, ARRS meetings)
  • A3CR2 - American Association of Academic Chief Residents in Radiology at the AUR Annual Meeting
  • Residents are given time off and regularly attend a variety of national and specialty society meetings throughout the year
