Interventional Pulmonary Medicine
Interventional Pulmonology Medicine at Montefiore uses advanced technology to provide a range of comprehensive services to patients with benign and malignant chest diseases, such as lung cancer, respiratory airway disorders, pulmonary nodules, pleural fluid and other conditions that affect the lining of the lungs.
We are dedicated to offering state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures for patients with lung nodules and masses and intrathoracic lymphadenopathy and the treatment of major airway disorders with endobronchial tumor debulking, airway dilatation, , stent placement and endobronchial valve and device placement for broncho-pleural fistula, among other things.
Our team of specialists also uses minimally invasive methods— including radial endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and navigational bronchoscopy—to evaluate most peripheral lung nodules. Radial EBUS, performed on an out-patient basis at our Moses Hospital, is a proven minimally invasive approach for diagnosing lung cancer in early stages and other diseases in the peripheral areas of the lung.
