Dental Residency Program
Montefiore Einstein provides postgraduate clinical training to over 1,400 residents and fellows annually. Our health system spans 11 hospitals and 200 clinics, and we have over 2,000 physicians and 40,000 employees. We see more than 1.1 million patients annually, making us the largest network in the Bronx, Westchester County and the Hudson Valley.
One of the most extensive training institutions for graduate medical and dental training in the country, the Montefiore Einstein medical network boasts a total of 10 dental sites that are fully integrated with our medical and allied health colleagues. Our program is a nationally recognized clinical, research and teaching environment.
Montefiore Einstein is proud to offer fully accredited dental residency training programs recognized by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). As one of the largest dental teaching hospitals in the United States, we provide comprehensive training in a range of specialties, including prosthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry and general practice. World-renowned faculty who are leaders in their fields mentor all residents and are committed to providing the highest quality of education and training.
Our dental residents receive hands-on clinical experience treating a diverse patient population from the Bronx and surrounding areas. This training provides unparalleled exposure to diverse cases, preparing fellows to handle complex dental challenges with confidence and expertise. In addition to rigorous clinical training, fellows engage in cutting-edge research, contributing to advancing dental care while enhancing their academic and clinical knowledge. Residents also benefit from the Graduate Medical Education (GME) funding program, which includes stipends, health insurance, paid leave and retirement plans.
Upon graduation, Montefiore’s dental residents are well-equipped to challenge the specialty board examinations. They become successful practitioners in private practice and academics or take on leadership roles within the dental community. Our training programs consistently produce highly skilled, compassionate and innovative professionals who significantly impact the future of dentistry.
