Our Approach to Nervous System Disorders

US News Neurosurgery badge

The Comprehensive Brain Health Center (CBHC) at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care-Westchester brings together leading board-certified physicians in the fields of neurology, neurological surgery, psychiatry and allied neuroscience disciplines, along with the most advanced technological modalities, to greatly enhance clinical diagnosis and treatment at a single location. Evaluating and treating nervous system disorders is complex and often involves multiple specialists. The complexity of scheduling and managing multiple appointments adds to the burden on patients and their families and can prolong the time needed to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan. The CBHC has world-class specialists in neurology and neurosurgery, with overlapping expertise, who simultaneously see patients at the same location, thereby providing a timely and comprehensive assessment and treatment plan. The Center, located at our new state-of-the-art Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care facility in Westchester, offers the most advanced, comprehensive and compassionate care. Our unique multidisciplinary approach to treating nervous system disorders looks beyond individual symptoms and integrates treatments to address associated conditions involving the patient as a whole and the impact they have on their extended families.

We are ranked in the top 1% of all hospitals in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery, according to U.S. News & World Report, and a premier destination for some of the world’s most complex neurological cases.

Diagnosing & Treating the Full Spectrum of Nervous System Disorders

Our elite interdisciplinary team of experts treats the full range of pediatric and adult nervous system conditions—including neurovascular, neuro-oncological and movement disorders; neuromuscular diseases; epilepsy syndromes; and various spinal conditions. The specialists at the Comprehensive Brain Health Center also provide care in other nervous system areas, including healthy aging and dementia, autism and pediatric communication disorders (i.e., learning, language and hearing), neuro-rehabilitation and neuromodulation, sports medicine, complex pain syndromes, as well as other subspecialty services.

Advanced Treatment

To ensure precise and timely diagnosis and treatment plans for even the most complex conditions, the Comprehensive Brain Health Center provides on-site CT and MRI imaging, and the latest noninvasive neurodiagnostic assessment tools, such as electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity (NCV), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and patient-specific optimized programming parameters for deep brain stimulation. Our team also provides evaluation and support for the behavioral, cognitive and emotional issues associated with nervous system disorders, as well as mental health services for caregivers.
