Global Response Fund: Relief for Ukraine

Montefiore Health System and Albert Einstein College of Medicine remain committed to helping the global community fight the COVID-19 pandemic and other urgent crises.

In the early morning hours of February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. The capital, Kyiv, and several other major cities were under attack. Since then, several hundred Ukrainians have been killed, and more than 1,000 people have been wounded. Medical providers desperately need supplies for wound care, surgical supplies, and biomedical equipment.

Today, we are raising "Global Response Fund: Relief for Ukraine" gifts to support this critical effort. Montefiore has partnered with the Afya Foundation, an organization that collects and delivers medical supplies to underserved communities across the globe. As the crisis continues in Ukraine, Montefiore and the Afya Foundation are supporting the Ukrainian medical community and refugees.

Impact: Thanks to committed friends like you, we have raised thousands in monetary donations to support similar efforts in India, Haiti, and other countries deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and other destructive disasters. Through this funding, Montefiore and the Afya Foundation have been able to deliver pallets of PPE and other equipment to local hospitals, provide expert consultation to medical teams, and more. Donations to our expansive Global Response Fund will continue direct efforts like these for countries in need.

Thank you for standing with us so we can stand for the global community.
