Controlled Substance Prescriptions

How can I get a prescription filled for a controlled substance?

It is the policy of Montefiore to not accept verbal prescriptions from prescribers for controlled substances; a prescription may be prepared based upon a fax, but the original prescription must be presented in order to recieve the medication.

It is the policy of Montefiore not to accept prescriptions for controlled substances written by prescribers for themselves or their family members.

Electronic prescriptions for controlled substance are currently not accepted by the pharmacy but the capability is being developed.
