Today, Montefiore Health System and St. John’s Riverside Hospital have announced that they have formally signed an affiliation agreement. This new partnership will provide patients in Yonkers and Rivertown access to Montefiore’s proactive, community-based care, dedicated to working collaboratively with a focus on improving overall health outcomes. By building on St. John’s existing high quality of care, this partnership will increase the ability of physicians to provide more effective patient services through Montefiore’s innovative, integrated health system.

“At Montefiore, we believe healthcare should be easy to access, local and tailored to the needs of the community,” said Steven M. Safyer, M.D., president and CEO of Montefiore Health System. “Working closely with the outstanding physicians at St. John’s, we will build on the hospital’s strengths and strong roots in the community. Together, we will deliver the high-quality care, close to our patients’ homes, with a gateway to advanced, science-driven medicine at Montefiore.”

An outgrowth of St. John’s and Montefiore Health System’s shared goal of improving the health of the communities they serve, this new relationship will continue Montefiore’s commitment to Westchester County and bolster efforts to provide patients an integrated system of care.

“This collaboration will strengthen healthcare services for St. John’s Riverside patients,” said Ronald J. Corti, president and CEO of St. John’s Riverside Hospital. “An alliance with the Montefiore Health System, among the finest medical institutions in our region, enhances our ability to provide the highest quality medical care not only on the community level, but on the tertiary level.”

St. John’s and Montefiore are both committed to improving the health outcomes of the communities they serve. Montefiore coordinates the care of more than 350,000 lives throughout the Bronx, Westchester and Northern Manhattan, and plans to continue to expand this approach to better serve residents of the Yonkers area.
