Einstein and Montefiore Investigators Present Research at Infectious Diseases (ID) Week

Investigators at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and Montefiore Medical Center will present their latest research on HIV, tuberculosis and more at Infectious Diseases (ID) Week 2014. In addition to disease-specific findings, Einstein-Montefiore clinicians will detail innovative work by the Montefiore/Einstein Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) to promote more judicious antibiotic prescribing.
Liise-anne Pirofski, M.D., chief of the division of infectious diseases at Einstein and Montefiore, will also deliver the Maxwell Finland lecture on Thursday, October 9, 5:00 p.m. The title of her lecture is: “Why isn’t my patient getting better: Revisiting the disease in infectious diseases.” Dr. Pirofski, who also holds the Selma and Dr. Jacques Mitrani Chair in Biomedical Research at Einstein, will also participate in a special symposium on Cryptococcosis, presenting “Rethinking Susceptibility to Cryptococcosis” on Wednesday, October 8, 2:00 p.m.
ID Week will take place October 8 – 12 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
