About
Ms. Comas collaborates with physicians and other members of the oncology team to manage the care of patients with cancers that affect the blood, bone marrow and lymph nodes. Her responsibilities include managing chemotherapy-related toxicities and working closely with pre and post-stem cell transplant patients by providing education regarding stem cell transplant and managing post-transplant complications like GVHD. She also participates in clinical trials as a sub-investigator. Ms.Comas is skilled in patient teaching with a strong emphasis on disease management. She is a compassionate, dedicated and self-directed professional with superior problem-solving and communication skills.
Ms. Comas has over ten years of oncology experience. Before coming to Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center, she was a Registered Nurse in the inpatient medical-surgical/oncology unit at St. John’s Riverside Hospital for eight years. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1997. She later earned her Associate Degree in applied science at Cochran School of Nursing in 2013, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Herbert H. Lehman College in 2016 and her Master of Science in Nursing at the same institution in 2019. Ms. Comas holds certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is certified in Biotherapy and Chemotherapy. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
