About
Dr. Joseph Ricci is a native New Yorker, having grown up in Queens, and is a recognized leader in the field of plastic surgery for his innovative expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Ricci earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, graduating first in his class. From there, he traveled to Boston to complete the prestigious six-year Harvard Plastic Surgery program, working at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess MedicalCenter, Boston Children’s Hospital and Shiner’s Burn Hospital. Upon completion, he sought advanced training in complex adult reconstruction, completing a microsurgery fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital.
Dr. Ricci has extensive experience with limb salvage, lower extremity reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction after cancer and breast reconstruction. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Ricci is also nationally recognized for his research in microsurgery and adult reconstruction, having authored over 60 articles on cutting-edge clinical research in the top nationally recognized surgical journals and numerous book chapters. He has also been invited to give numerous presentations at a wide variety of local, national and international surgical meeting. Dr. Ricci is board-certified by the American Board ofPlastic Surgery and is an active member of numerous surgical organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the Plastic Surgery Research Council, where he serves on numerous committees.
