Our expert team of physicians and specialists are leaders in complex urogenital reconstruction and minimally invasive procedures. Our team offers a comprehensive range of services which include laparoscopic, robotic and vaginal surgeries for the treatment of pelvic floor conditions. As one of the central referral centers in the New York Metropolitan Area, our division handles a significant volume, treating over 5,000 patients and performing over 300 procedures annually. Our multidisciplinary team, which includes specialists from various departments, collaborates to provide extensive, state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services for pelvic floor conditions.

Many women assume that changes in the function of their lower urinary tract are an inevitable part of aging. Although symptoms such as frequency or urgency of urination, incontinence or the need to get up at night to urinate are quite normal, they can be easily remedied. Related conditions such as dropping, or prolapse, of the associated organs and interstitial cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) also have simple treatments.

Advanced Treatments

For 40% of our patients, a combination of behavior modification and medication effectively treats their symptoms without the need for surgery. We prescribe new medications that are more easily administered and cause fewer side effects than previous ones. When surgery is required, new developments in noninvasive techniques mean that most patients return home the same day or the following morning. Our results are outstanding, with up to 90% of patients experiencing improvement or being fully cured.

Conditions We Treat

Our physicians treat a wide range of pelvic floor conditions, including:

  • Abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Chronic pelvic pain, including pain that originates in the bladder
  • Fecal and urinary incontinence
  • Frequent urination
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic pain
  • Urinary and fecal incontinence
  • Vaginal dryness due to menopause
  • Vaginal fistulas

Advanced Diagnosis

For all patients, our first goal is to quickly establish an exact diagnosis. We employ multichannel urodynamic testing, which has several advantages compared to older diagnostic methods, including:

  • 95% accuracy
  • More thorough diagnosis than a medical history alone
  • Noninvasive and prompt diagnosis
