Camille Fontaine, MD, is an attending physician, Anesthesiology and Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is in general anesthesiology, acute pain management and interventional and chronic pain management. She takes a unique approach to treatment that is wholly patient-tailored, with clinical interests that include non-opioid multimodal analgesic models, Point of Care Ultrasonography (POCUS), ultrasound guided musculoskeletal, joint, and peripheral nerve injections, as well as wholebody wellness, lifestyle and functional medicine.

In 2015, Dr. Fontaine earned her Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College. She pursued her postgraduate training at Mount Sinai West and Morningside Hospitals affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine, completing her internship in 2016, her anesthesiology residency in 2019 and her interventional pain medicine fellowship in 2020.

Dr. Fontaine’s research interests include complementary and alternative medicine effects on chronic pain syndromes; also novel neural blockade, neural ablative procedures, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation focused interventions for chronic pain syndromes. She has given lectures nationally on ultrasound guided interventions, cannabinoid-focused analgesia, and complex chronic neuropathic pain syndromes. She has also edited and co-authored several textbook chapters and peer-reviewed journal publications.

Dr. Fontaine is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is a member of several professional societies including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
