BRONX, NY (December 15, 2009) - NY Jets center Nick Mangold and 1050 ESPN Radio's popular afternoon drive host and "Voice of the Yankees" Michael Kay visited The Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) today, bringing holiday presents to the young patients and reading them the classic children's book, The Little Engine That Could. Their visit was sponsored by EmblemHealth and 1050 ESPN Radio.

After the reading, Mangold and Kay autographed items brought for the children by EmblemHealth and 1050 ESPN, including Jets and Yankees items.  Mangold and Kay then made personal bedside visits.

Mangold's career with the New York Jets began in 2006, and became the first rookie center in team history to start all 16 games. In 2008 Mangold was voted to the 2008 Pro Bowl as a starter and currently anchors an offensive line that boasts the NFL's best rushing offense.

A Bronx native and one of 1050 ESPN Radio's original personalities, Michael Kay has been broadcasting Yankee baseball on radio and television since 1992.  Known as the "Voice of the Yankees," he hosts 1050's The Michael Kay Show Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m.  He is also a regular contributor to ESPN's The Sports Reporters.
